Despite 21.07 per cent contribution of the agricultural sector to the overall Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Q1’24, the food processing industry in the country imported processed food and beverages valued at $566.7 million in the first three months of the year.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) revealed that the imports were shipped from from Asia, China, Europe, America and Africa between January and March 2024.
