Nigeria: Solar energy project to up electricity supply in largest state

The Nigerian government has introduced a 300KWp solar PV pilot project with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Kainji, Niger State, as part of President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

This initiative, integral to Nigeria's renewable energy strategy, seeks to bolster power generation capacity and lower electricity expenses. Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, emphasized the project's significance in providing sufficient, dependable, and high-quality electricity to both businesses and households. This initiative is aligned with broader objectives to fortify Nigeria's energy infrastructure and stimulate economic growth.
