EV: ‘Nigeria Has Less Than 1% Of Global Market Share’

Nigeria has less than one per cent of the global market share of electric vehicles (EVs), Head Mobility, Sterling Bank, Engr Akinkunmi Akingbogun, has said. He stated that there was a need to adopt more EVs in Nigeria.

He spoke during a quarterly press webinar and engagement organized by the Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN). It was titled: “Introduction to electric vehicles.’ Akingbogun said: “Nigeria is doing less than one percent of the entire market share of EVs because Africa is exactly one.

However, the likely direction for the EVs adoption will likely start with the two-wheelers and three-wheelers, rather than four-wheelers.
